Novak Djokovic secured his first tournament win of 2022 on Sunday with a 6-0, 7-6 defeat of Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final of the Italian Open.
Djokovic, 34, is the top-ranked men’s singles player in the world, but hadn’t won a tournament since being deported just before the start of the Australian Open. He lost in the Dubai Tennis Championships, Monte-Carlo Masters, Serbian Open and Madrid Open before finally getting a title Sunday.
